The Workforce Foundation is currently immersed in a transformative endeavor aimed at empowering the youth of Nigeria through a comprehensive capacity-building initiative. At the core of our mission is the creation of an environment that fosters growth and success for young individuals as they navigate the complexities of the professional world. Presently, our efforts are concentrated on delivering employability skills training to corps members in Lagos State, with a steadfast commitment to ensuring their excellence in various career paths, be it as professionals or entrepreneurs.
The success of this initiative has been greatly augmented by the warm reception and collaborative spirit extended to us by the Lagos State coordinator, Mrs. Yetunde Baderinwa, and all officials at the Lagos State NYSC camp. Their unwavering support has played a pivotal role in bringing this vision to fruition, and we express our heartfelt gratitude for their invaluable contribution. This collaborative effort marks a significant stride in our ongoing mission to positively impact the lives of Nigerian youth.
The primary objective of our recent visit was to conduct an employability skills training program for the corps members. However, our commitment to the well-being of the youth extended beyond capacity building, as we seized the opportunity to donate 200 mattresses and chairs to the youth corps orientation camp at Iyana Ipaja, Lagos, on the 29th of November 2023.
The delegation representing the Workforce Foundation during this impactful visit included Mrs. Kunbi Adesokan, Director of Workforce Foundation; Mr. Olasunkanmi Adenuga, Director of Workforce Learning; and team members, including Miss. Ebunoluwa, Mr. Quadri, Mr. Udoka, and Miss. Tifeoluwa. Their collective presence underscored the Foundation's commitment to taking substantive steps toward transforming the work experience and employment standards in Nigeria, with a specific focus on the youth demographic.
As we reflect on this milestone, it is important to note that this visit is just one facet of the Workforce Foundation's broader vision. Our commitment remains unwavering, and we envision organizing more impactful visits in the future. Through these initiatives, we aim to play a pivotal role in shaping a future where Nigerian youth are not only equipped with the necessary skills for success but also provided with opportunities that propel them toward fulfilling and rewarding careers.
